The KNX association is committed to being the safest solution in the home automation and building automation market. That is why KNX is the first technology to meet the highest security requirements according to the AES128 encryption standard.

To give these hackers no chance, KNX has implemented the highest level of protection in current technology. KNX Secure was developed to meet current and future challenges regarding cybersecurity in building automation.

Home automation and building automation with KNX are secure. Our technology follows all the necessary safety rules. KNX Secure technology is standardized according to EN 50090-3-4, which means that KNX successfully blocks hacker attacks on the digital infrastructure of networked buildings. The risk of digital intrusion is thus reduced to a minimum.

In addition, KNX Secure meets the highest encryption standards (according to ISO 18033-3, such as AES 128 CCM encryption) in order to effectively prevent attacks against the digital infrastructure of buildings and achieve the highest level data protection.

KNX Secure guarantees maximum protection by offering double protection. KNX IP Secure extends the IP protocol in such a way that all transferred telegrams and data are fully encrypted. KNX Data Secure effectively protects user data against unauthorized access and manipulation by means of encryption and authentication.
